Nuffield Foundation Research Placement

Initially, this project was designed to create resources for undergraduate students, specifically those with no experience in coding, that allow them to teach themselves the basics of python using a format called Jupyter. The resources included coded notebooks; that were intended to be straightforward and easy-to-follow so that a student with no ability to code would be able to follow and complete the tasks set, as well as being able to understand the reasoning behind the code. The project was then extended so that this basic knowledge in coding could be used to trial and test a new coding system on a probe station; allowing the old programming commands and software to be converted into a new system that would work coinciding with the VELO upgrade that is currently being worked on within the Department of Physics at the University of Liverpool.
